A proper cake

Here's how to determine which is a good cake, made of sandy layers in-dispersed with generally white creme:
  1. Are the layers dark?
  2. Are the layers thin?
The closer you get to answering both of those questions in the affirmative, the better the cake. If the layers are light, they are probably not well baked and won't taste good. If the layers are thick they will be too chewy (that was a hard one to spell, you'll be surprised).
