Modern shortenings
Notice how words get chopped off beyond any semantic recognition? "Popped corn," a term so clearly descriptive, is now weak and an ambiguous "pop corn." Same with "iced cream." Same with "iced tea." If that's how things are going, why not eliminate all past tense before it's too late?
