Suppose you have a colon in the middle of the sentence which is followed by an independent clause. E.g. a recent post which triggered this inquiry: "Here's the scenario: You have a single cable connection..." In cases like this, does the first letter of the independent clause in question get capitalized? That is, here, is it correct to have the first letter of "You" capitalized?
I personally prefer to capitalize, as you might have guessed. To me it clearly delineates the independence of the clause and avoids confusing it with a run of the mill list that (meaning lists, pluraly) usually start with the same kind of colon: one, two, three. An independent clause is no list and must be Respected.
