"Next Blog" not so next

Why are the blogs displayed when clicking "next blog" so spammy? And why do the same ones keep coming back again and again? I remember the glory days in 2004/5 when I actually discovered something useful, including the incredible, yet so short lived, artist one. Well, not anymore.
