Flock is a neato concept and all but not quite ready for primetime blogging. Just not yet. Not on blogger beta. Firstly, the post authored through the Flock contraption just entirely vanished. Gone. Never published. No saved record anywhere in Flock internals. Just gone. But that's not the worst part. The worst part by far is that the tags are dead. On blogger tags neatly spring to life the minute you start typing the first letter. Not so with flock. Quite the opposite. And finally, if dead tags was the deal breaker, here comes hitman's control shot: editing a post is totally impossible. All the code spirits get summoned from their etherial graves, summarily appearing without a hint of invitation. There's MIME (how's it going? who are you?), Edit and Compose tabs, are wiped out by some formatting plague. Portions of the border are also snatched away, apparently by the same predator that stole the tabs.

Naturally, it's not at all Flock's fault - I just didn't turn off NoScript. But then again, no way to set default blog font? Wiped out hyperlinks when clicking "blog this" for an RSS entry? No - this ain't no picknick, sir, although the links aren't really wiped out. They just pretend this way, which is still not too picknicky for my taste. But hope conquers all. Perhaps even Flock.
